Il mio unico obiettivo quando progetto una casa è che abbia per il proprietario un valore diverso da quello che definirei io. Posso comporre gli spazi e immaginare la luce che muta al loro interno, nonché immaginare le sue qualità acustiche e tattili, ma è il proprietario a dover dettare il colore. Il mio concetto di casa è molto diverso. Ho scritto questa poesia anni fa, e l’ho risistemata qui ora. ... A shadow cast is home. Under the sun, lying on the ground, the smell of the earth, song of a bird, a fleeting cloud. This is my real home, my spiritual sense of being breathes slowly, deeply. My architecture is for when it rains, when the wind blows, when darkness invades my heart, when I have been on the move and am not allowed to rest with my shadow.
